My first thought, and my first failure, with creating this deck was that I was going to treat it as a 20 card deck, but then just have 3 of each card. However, as I have not opened up my boxed set, I do not have access to 3 of each card. Now, my opponent and I have agreed that low-quality printed cards are okay, so I may well have 3 of each card for the next game, but I decided to go for the "honest" pirate deck this time.
In designing I started with the

's. I didn't plan on doing any of the

's so I just ignored those. I focused on

's that would cause my opponent to spend more

either as a cost or by returning cards to their hand that they would then have to bring out again.
For this deck, the

's were going to be just as important as the

, so I had an equal amount of both, and that was half the deck. In hind sight, I might have been able to do with more to make sure I got what I wanted out early, before all that

would bump up the cost.
For

, I actually made the mistake of thinking that I could use

for

, but I caught it before the actual game and redid the ones I had added. This is one thing that might need a bit of an adjustment.
For

and

, I love them for one use:

payments! The abilities are a bonus, and extra nice in a pirate deck because your

doesn't add to their costs. In terms of how I used the

specifically, however:
- Psychic Theft - intent was to stall opponent fromgaining
, however I didn't need to, but I also didn't get the only
out until 5th or 6th round.
- Reap the Whirlwind - intent was, obviously combat. When I used them I used both of them twice to great effect!
- Aggravated Assault - I only used this once. Not much of my deck had to do with dealing
.
- Dance Among the Heavens - I used it once, and after that it was in play so I assumed I couldn't play my second one.
- Prey on the Weak - only used it once. Not as effective as I was thinking it would be. Maybe I just didn't have the right circumstances
Both

and

were afterthoughts. After playing, however, I have to say I found Aunt Crow, Bartender to be SUPER AWESOME!!! I love that card!
