Hi,

This complication says to pay for each attached to your .

Is this complication automatically resolved if I have 0 upgrades attached to my ship, or do I have to have at least one upgrade in order to overcome it?

I had a similar question about the Letting Things Slide complication but I am in doubt again about this one.

I've played both that you don't have to pay since you don't have any.

Letting Things Slide is different.

The logic is that you must do what the complication says to resolve it.

Letting Things Slide is looking for you to return an to your hand. So, you need an and you need to return it to your hand.

Firmware Update Errors is looking for you to pay for each you control. So, you pay x0 = 0 and you did what the complication wanted.

Similar difference with More Bling, More Bother and Firefight. You must be able to inflict 4 in the latter case, which includes not overwounding a crew. But, More Bling, More Bother doesn't care if you have crew in play or not or whether you overwound crew or not.
