Missile Barbette will add 3 to AV and Predatory Tactics will add another 1 to AV, so the total bonus will be 4, yes.

It may be that an earlier version of the Barbette only gave +2, but we would have to research that, and I think we can just settle on "oops" for the erroneous example.

Thanks for the report. It's definitely a game that will make more sense after a bit of play, to get the icons down and the flow of the phases. When paying costs/expenses, the cards from the deck never go to your hand, they go to your discard pile. You can mix and match cards from deck with cards from hand to meet expenses.
