Can you use the "On the Lam" event to target one of your own characters and thus get yourself a pirate token?

the extra ships arrived which is great, I have one copy of everything at the moment. have had a solo game with the far trader the game works well. I have looked at all the ships the scout ship and the deck it comes with (with some small changes) is my favorite atm. I like the safari ship as well. so...
