Re: Playtesting First Solo Campaign
Any news on this? The possibility of a solo-focused expansion is the reason I'm still holding on to this game.

Re: Teaching the Game to newbies
I, for one, don't see this is an issue at all. Whether you see it as one or not, it is an issue. There are players who do not want to wade through getting these icons down. I can see why a lot of people love the game, Race for the Galaxy, but I will never enjoy it because I find the iconography uni...

Re: General Discussion on Solo Play
I think that is the point we are discussing. That is, replace a few cards with ones that are solo oriented. I don't think it will be a huge number of cards and having them as a separate pack, you can decide if you'd like to use them or not. I think a deck of 20 cards, 3 copies each so 60 total just...

Re: General Discussion on Solo Play
Sounds to me like you're overcomplicating things. Those cards can just as easily just be replaced in the deck. Personally, I leave them in and just use them for expenses (not the most efficient when using 1 e.v. cards, but again, I could just replace them if I want.) Either works fine without making...

Re: Playtesting First Solo Campaign
Same. For any player count of 2 or more, I have several games that I would rather play than this one. For solo play, however, this is one of my go-to's. It's better as a solo game imo, and I would love to see more support for solo play.

Re: Capacity Tokens
More ships have (this includes ) than any other capability except for . The tokens have nothing to do with that.

Re: Anyone ever beat Solo Scenario 2?
I beat it with the Empress Marava deck. I also waited several turns before attempting a contract. Once I did, I went for the highest value contracts and subcontracts I could to spend as little time as possible having to pay every turn. The ability to trade in 3 resources for any 1 resource was inval...

Re: Figuring out the best ships without promos for each scenario
I dislike using the Subsidized Merchant for any solo scenario except for 5 (which is the only scenario I dislike due to aforementioned reasons.) It's vastly superior to other mercantile ships, but this is offset by its vulnerability to piracy. Since piracy isn't a thing in any of scenarios 1 through...

Re: General Discussion on Solo Play
Hi Korric, Have you tried the "Solo Saturday" scenarios? I find them to be good. There are 31 of them that I know of and they add a neat twist to the game. I have complied them all into one document for me to play. I'm working my way thru them, a few I've played before but in this lock down I thoug...
